Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to support mission-critical programs in Fort Meade, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, statistical modeling, and transforming complex datasets into actionable intelligence.
This position requires a highly analytical professional who can identify trends, develop data-driven solutions, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced data analytics, statistical models, and machine learning algorithms supporting ASOM and Defensive Cyberspace Operations.
  • Analyze large-scale cybersecurity datasets, including network traffic, endpoint telemetry, system logs, authentication events, and cloud security data, to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential adversary activity.
  • Develop predictive and behavioral analytics to identify emerging threats, suspicious activities, and indicators of compromise.
  • Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining techniques to correlate information across multiple cyber data sources.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Experience in data science, applied statistics, machine learning, advanced analytics, or related technical disciplines.
  • Strong programming experience with Python and SQL, including data analysis and manipulation using libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
  • Experience developing statistical models, machine learning algorithms, anomaly detection methods, or predictive analytics.
  • Experience processing, analyzing, and correlating large, complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Familiarity with data visualization, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
  • Experience with analytical tools and platforms such as Jupyter, Elasticsearch, Splunk, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, network communications, security telemetry, or cyber threat analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights.
  • Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), Cyber Protection Teams (CPTs), DoD, or Intelligence Community missions.
  • Familiarity with Analytic Schemes of Maneuver (ASOMs) and threat-informed cyber analytics.
  • Experience developing machine learning models for cybersecurity applications, including anomaly detection, behavioral analysis, threat classification, and pattern recognition.
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and cyber threat intelligence.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, or distributed analytics platforms.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data and analytics environments, including AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with SIEM/SOAR platforms, EDR telemetry, network security monitoring, and security event correlation.
  • Experience with graph analytics, time-series analysis, or advanced correlation techniques.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance, with additional clearance requirements dependent upon mission assignment.

  • Develop Python-based analytical tools, scripts, and automated workflows to support cyber threat detection, investigation, and operational assessments.
  • Support the development and refinement of ASOM analytic methodologies by translating mission requirements and adversary behaviors into measurable indicators and analytical models.
  • Evaluate and improve analytic performance, including detection accuracy, false-positive rates, and model effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cyber operators, data engineers, and threat analysts to identify data gaps, improve analytic capabilities, and support mission requirements.
